Hello everyone,
I am pleased to share that our 3rd Annual Charity Hockey Event raised $3,000 to benefit New England Center for Children-Autism Education & Research located in Southborough, MA. It was a night filled with friendly competitive fun for a wonderful cause! Special thanks to everyone who helped organize the event, our dedicated attendees/players and to our most generous sponsors. Congrats to all the players, too!
Due to overwhelming popular demand, the 2nd Annual Charity Cornhole Event & Networking Social will take place on Thursday, June 22nd at the American Legion Post 440 in Newton, MA. Our charity of choice this year is 22Mohawks-Veterans Suicide Prevention/Pups for Vets based in Millis, MA. They are proud to provide assistance to Veterans who need help with navigating the struggles of everyday life when they return home from duty. Be it physical, mental, or financial support, they strive to do everything in their power to improve the lives of Veterans while combating PTSD and raising awareness for the prevalence of Veteran suicide among our former service members. Please show them your support and come join the fun! If you have not registered yet please do so here.
The next networking charity event after cornhole will be…NEWA’s 16th Annual Charity Golf Event! Gratefully, we are headed back to the beautiful Pinehills Golf Club in Plymouth, MA on Thursday, September 28th. Sponsorship info will be available in early July. Heather Harrington-NEWA VP and I will be the Event Co-Chairs again so please get ready for another truly epic event!
Thanks to our friends at WIA, we also have an updated website for everyone to enjoy. It has been restructured and includes new features like the ability to update your contact information and become a new NEWA member quickly. This will enable you to continue to receive the latest information about events and other pertinent information regarding NEWA and the wireless industry. Also, just a reminder that NEWA Membership is FREE…please be on the look-out for more info from our newly created Membership Committee, too.
The Scholarship Committee has been busy reviewing the 29 applications we received this year – over double the number of applicants from last year! The NEWA Scholarship Program is our legacy, and we are honored to award scholarships every year, thanks to your continued support. The lucky winners will be announced shortly!
