Last week, the WIA Telecommunications Education Center (TEC) Team was on site at Montgomery College to welcome the first cohort of a multi-year partnership with Montgomery College, WorkSource Montgomery, Montgomery County, and WIA. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in our collective efforts to empower job seekers by providing them with the essential credentials needed for careers in the rapidly evolving field of 5G technology.
The excitement was palpable as students eagerly embarked on their journey through the 5G Readiness Program. This comprehensive training initiative is designed to equip participants with four essential credentials for 5G technology careers, enhancing their technical skills and opening new career opportunities. The 5G Readiness Program includes credentials for Wireless Broadband Infrastructure; 5G Ecosystem; In-building Wireless Solutions; and 5G and Broadband Deployment. The Program is more than just a training course; it is a pathway to a brighter future for many individuals who are eager to make their mark in the telecommunications and tech industry.
This partnership with Montgomery College, WorkSource Montgomery, Montgomery County, and WIA is a shining example of what can be achieved when organizations come together with a shared vision. By providing comprehensive training and support, we are not only helping individuals gain valuable skills but also contributing to the growth and development of the community and industry at large. At the end of the cohort, students will convene with area employers to give the students a greater understanding of the telecommunications landscape, ideas on jobs and career paths and potential opportunities to put their new credentials to use.
We are thrilled to see the enthusiasm of the students as they begin this transformative journey. Their excitement is matched by our own as we look forward to witnessing the positive impact this initiative will have on the community and the future workforce. Stay tuned for more updates as participants progress through the 5G Readiness Program. Together, we are building a stronger, more resilient workforce ready to embrace the opportunities of the future.
